Parks leave a lasting impression
For generations, parks have captured our imagination and enthusiasm while enhancing our quality of life.  The Kent Parks Foundation is continuing this rich tradition by leaving our parks system better than we found it.  We support Kent parks, parks programming, and special projects.  As a registered nonprofit organization, we provide opportunities to ensure that Kent remains a beautiful, healthy, and caring place to raise our families and enjoy our lives.  Gifts through the Kent Parks Foundation are tax-deductible as permitted by law.

"Parks programs create a level playing field.  When children play on a sports team, ethnic backgrounds are not present; they are simply a member of a team."           Past Foundation Board Member

In September of 2009 the Kent City Council adopted the Green Kent Partnership, a 20-year environmental restoration plan.  Kent is the sixth city in the Green Cities program, along with Seattle, Tacoma, Kirkland, Redmond, and Everett.  The Green Kent Partnership brings together the city, Forterra, (formerly the Cascade Land Conservancy), King Conservation District, Kent Parks Foundation, and the residents of Kent, working together to restore our urban forested parks and natural areas for everyone to enjoy for generations to come.
